Casie Steeves

Hi.

My name is Casie, and I,

(along with my husband, Matt) are lifelong citizens of Faribault, Faribault Public School graduates/alumni, and the proud parents of 2.5 tiny Falcons,

(baby # 3 will grace us Mid-November 2020!)

Growing up, we could not imagine living, working or raising our families in another community, despite many of our peers negative attitudes and comments. For us, this town has provided great opportunity, and has so much to offer its citizens, (if you take the time to look.)

I’ll be quite honest-, I didn’t staring thinking about education, (and daycare and the nine million other things that go along with having kids) until pretty recently.

I assumed we signed a couple of forms and there weren't many options or decisions to make. It wasn’t until my first born neared school age and after a career change that I became passionate about the education my child would receive.

My career with the Faribault Chamber of Commerce, was eye-opening for a variety of reasons, but it was where I began to see how inter-dependent all entities (business community, chamber, city, and schools) are on each other. If one is successful, the others thrive. As I continue to work at the Chamber, it is a constant reminder to work collaboratively and positively to achieve greatness. I've seen many projects and initiatives work because of this.

After a few years of being involved with a variety of community boards, planning groups, and more, I knew I wanted to get more involved with something that mattered to me personally.  After an extremely positive experience with our decision to send our son to Faribault Public School, I was inspired to run for school board.

Throughout my life, I've picked up skills I can and will bring to the Faribault Public School Board, including strong leadership, communication and creative plus analytical skills. Merged with positive attitude, these strengths have allowed me to influence others in our community. Additionally, my experiences have given me the skills necessary to develop creative and collaborative solutions to any problem.

As a lifelong resident of Faribault, and an employee of the Faribault Chamber of Commerce, I understand the importance of having a strong public school system and offer a unique perspective on how it relates to the economies of our community.  As a parent of tiny Falcons, I have a vested interest in serving the community of Faribault, as a school board member.

I'd appreciate your support on election day,

and will work hard to maintain the trust you've placed in me.

Please feel free to reach out to me to talk about experiences, where I stand or if you have a question you'd like to talk about (scroll below for contact form and info!)
